Grandparents and relatives taking care of children need support too.

Grandparent Support Groups

More than 6 million children are being raised in households headed by grandparents and other relatives. In Oregon, 6.2% of children are living with either a grandparent or relative. Grandparents and relatives are faced with many obstacles, including access to health care, obtaining, affordable housing, lack of respite services, and enrolling children in school.

Attending a support group provides both a place to share with others who are experiencing the same things, and also a place to learn new skills to improve physical, psychological and emotional wellbeing. See the Calendar page for location and schedule. See the Resource page for local and national resources.
